Services offered in appointments

A service is what is offered to the customer during an appointment. For example, a beauty center will offer tanning, manicure, massage, etc., while a dental clinic will offer services corresponding to teeth cleaning, implants, cavity treatment, etc.

Services are crucial within Softvision Agenda. Every time an appointment is created in the calendar, it is always mandatory to specify which service will be provided to the customer in that appointment.

For each service, it is possible to specify the duration, price, and color used to highlight the appointments using that service in the calendar.

Another key aspect is specifying the resources and the staff members used to provide the service. When requesting an appointment for a time slot that is already booked, the system allows adding another appointment only if the resources or staff required for the service are not already in use by other services at that same time.

In the "Advanced" tab of the service window, you can indicate if the service is a Class and specify its size. Services of this type are very useful when multiple clients participate in the same appointment. For example, a group spinning lesson at a gym: there is a single appointment at a certain time, but several clients attend, with the maximum number determined by the class size.

Also in the "Advanced" tab, it is possible to specify whether the service can be booked through the online booking portal. In this case, it is possible to show or hide the price and duration of the service, add a description and an image, and indicate whether the client can select a single staff member or a single resource when booking. The client can choose among the staff members (or resources) assigned to the service (or all members/resources if none were specified).
Enabling the option "Automatic staff selection" will make the staff assignment automatic based on availability for the selected time.
